Enemy: Hi! Glad to see ppl posting and asking questions here. You asked "What I wanted to ask is if there are any comics in work. I mean comics that are just like the old ones (I actually doubt it since the last one is from 2006). I don´t know why the new releases stopped one day. Did - whoever was drawing the graphics - retire?" The answer is yes and no. Yes, Niklas, the creator of this site, and the primary artist and writer is in fact retired from these stories. He is presently concentrating on making a living, and making these comics takes a lot of time and effort. Very few of those who loved his comics took the time to say so, whereas those few who didn't were very vocal, and I don't believe this can have helped. Niklas has graciously allowed us to continue with the comics and has stated he looks in on them from time to time. (He also has a donation page for anyone who wishes which is still active and his comic is still for sale to the best of my knowledge too.) I would like to mention 3 things though. Soon after the comics started Niklas allowed a few additional authors and even artists to add some of those original stories you are seeing, and they are not retired from the comics, however much we are saddened that Niklas presently is. Both Jonathon and Davy are still around, and is you press on the links part of the new site, you will see an extensive addition to the alien story. If you look at March's original alien story on the new site you'll notice it has a new chapter (well about a year old) and you'll notice that "The grumpy old man" has not 4 chapters, but 7, including new illustrations, two the traditional way, and a couple 3d. The writer responsible for this has more material which should soon be published too. Epilef is writing a more traditional story, illustrated by myself about Fabian and his little brother. If you go to the link page and click on Eidan's page, you will see a link to both of the above. On the Eidan page, you will also find several new stories. You also commented:"I would really like some comics drawn by Ravengrim. His drawings really look like the original ones. Respect. I´m hoping for a reply Thank you!" You and me both. I'm a professional illustrator, and do both 3d and 2d, but I think Ravengrim's art is beautiful and is better at making art that looks like the original Niklas art than pretty much anybody. I hope the same thing. We'd also like to thank Perry for all he has contributed. As you see there are many new stories, and more in the works. Making comments that allow the authors and artists to know the public actually cares helps make this happen. I usually illustrate in 3d, as it's my favorite style, but have included a couple 2d for old time sakes, but I truely don't know what ppl prefer. I also would really like to see more of ravengrim's work, as it's very professional, and captures a lot of the original art's feel, though Niklas is sorely missed, and if he ever decides to add a new story, I'd love to post it, though he hasn't indicated that this will be the case...

Sorry, but I don´t really like the 3d artwork. That´s just my opinion. Probably it´s just because it´s new. I like the boys like they were in the beginning ^^ And I would really love to see some new comics, not just the old ones continued. It´s probably hard to think of a new, interesting storyline, but please try

That's alright. I asked your opinion. Some like 3d and some, as I suspected like the traditional comics. I'll make sure some of both appears. Sometimes I can't decide which to do, and I do take people's opinions into account. I will also take into account that new stories will be welcome, though I'm not sure what ppl think about new characters. Some were introduced over time in even the original comics. I too would love to see more of Ravengrim's work. Niklas is a master comic artist. Ravengrim seems to capture that better than anybody. I apologize I didn't notice the post right away. If he wishes to post more stories and/or art, I'll be happy to make sure it gets posted. It looks great. Very professional Ravengrim. Feel free to post again. Your opinions count when kindly put. We'll all see what we can do about the new storylines. It's good to know ppl are reading them (the stories).

Hi, thank you very much, Enemy and Eidan. I'm glad you like my comic I've finished 2 more pages now, I progress quite slowly because I have not so much time to draw. And sometimes it takes me more than an hour to finish even one single panel when I lack motivation. It's quite difficult for me to "copy" the original style of the Niklas comics, though I love this style. Actually I often started to draw comics in the past but almost never finished any of them because I just lost my interest in it as I always have so many other things in my head. Now this is one of the longest stories I've ever brought on paper (or JPG-files because I'm drawing in Photoshop ) and I'm really looking forward to finish it one day. I think there are 3 to 4 pages more to come and I will try to draw about 2-3 panels a day so the comic will be finished soon. Do you want to see the 2 additional pages now or should I only upload the whole comic when it's finished? PS.: I just checked out your 3D-Stuff, Eidan, it's really awesome! The character models, the textures... simply perfect! I also tried some 3D years ago and I know how difficult it is.

Thanks Ravengrim. I'm glad you liked the 3d. From time to time I heard ppl saying they wished Hollywood would get ahold of it, so I decided to let them see what it would look like if it did. It's made pretty much the same way the movies from Pixar and Disney are. I hope people enjoy them. 2d/cartoons will never stop being popular. Cartoons are here to stay. Both styles have their charm, and you do a wonderful job of producing high quality 2d which capture the essence of the original cartoons extremely well. I can't wait to see more. I'd ay I'd like to see them as you draw them. Then when it's all done we can see about posting it on the mian page. Your work's really cool. Thanks for sharing it.

Okay, I've added the 2 pages to my Dropbox folder And if you find anything in the comic which you think could be improved, especially with the English language as well as the "comic language" (These sounds and noises, I think it's called onomatopoeia), please let me know The link is now also in my Signature. ↓↓↓

Ravengrim: Cool Ravengrim! Thanks! You're a good artist and capture the charters very well. We can hardly wait to see more. Enemy: It looks like your wish (and that of others) is being granted compliments of Ravengrim. The rest of us will see what we can do to contribute to more stories too, but I think most of us particularly enjoy Ravengrim's art, me included.

Hello everyone; this is Perry Van Mason. This is my first time writing here. Ravengrim: Your art IS excellent. So much so that I'm a tad jealous, since for years I was about the only (2D) artist doing any Niklas related artwork. Now I have competition. Heh! Oh well; maybe that'll help get me out of retirement and start doing more serious niklas artwork. Your artwork is not only very good Niklas artwork but has more than a hint of Barry Blair in it. Is this deliberate (assuming you know who Barry Blair was)? Been considering doing a story (with art) along the same lines as you, where Niklas has only been dreaming on Jahv and the other alien boys from March's stories but that one day they suddenly become real and really do star interacting with Niklas. But I'd need to get permissions from March (and I imagine Jonathan) first i imagine. Still just a thought. Hope to see you finish your story.

Thank you Perry I found alot of your work on the fanart site, and I find it really cool. My favourites are "When Aliens attack" and "Niklas Dragon Born" (I played Skyrim a lot ). What I find a bit sad is that we can not comment directly on this site, because I would really like to write some lines to several of your pictures. And I would love to see more of your stuff! May I ask, what program do you use for drawing? I did not know who Barry Blair was, but I googled him now. I don't really find that my work "has more than a hint of Barry Blair in it", but perhaps I just do not notice... Maybe you want to explain/concretize this comparison to me? EDIT: Btw, is there any way to subscribe to a topic so I get an email when someone makes a post?

Enemy (and all): The links tab is now called the links/new stories tab, so it will be easier for people to locate new stories and realize they exist even if they are off site, like some one Jonathan's. This is partially due to a problem posting new stories on the main site, but will keep people connected to stories no matter where they are. This is available now. Note: As on the original Niklas site, there is a pointing hand that says next (which is located at the bottom of the links/new stories page. As it says, it leads to many new stories. If you can find one, and wish to see if there is a new story, they should be listed here. They may also appear eventually on the main page, but will appear here regardless so you know where to find them. I did this after reading your post and realizing that people often don't realize it when there are new stories. Ravengrim: Although your story is not yet finished, your work is so popular that I've included it on the "new story" page that the pointing hand link leads to I mentioned. If you prefer I change that for any reason, let me know. Enemy: You asked for some more stories, and in addition to just adding chapters on additional stories. Wish granted. A story is already ready to be published. We hope you and all will like it. You don't have me to thank for it though. It was written by Khaos. I was under the impression he was going to make some kind of an update to it for some reason, but apparently he's working on yet another story? If I have misunderstood this I'll simply update any material shown. This will start appearing - proabably in the next few hours, as I have just located my copy. Look for it. Khoas has been busy with family business, but good family business if I understood correctly. I will be providing the illustratioins for this at least in the interim, as in the past. Khaos has indicated that he is also an artist, so if he ever wishes to replace or add to the illustrations. Sometimes as artists and writers we don't know if people are really reading our stuff or not. Here is the only place we receive feedback to be able to tell. Jonathon. Your page now has an icon. I don't know why I wasn't able to get one before. Probabaly because I put one that was too big, so I redid it. Again, all: remember that there is a new stories page that can be accessed on the link/new stories tab, then by pressing the pointing "next" hand at the bottom of the page that says "more stories"

ravengrim; Well, the stuff you can find about barry Blair by googling is pretty much limited to his more recent (and rather bizarre) online stuff, and i was thinking more of his art style back in the 1980s, when he did such (non-sexually-explicit)comic books as Dragon Ring and Elflord. In the latter especially, where elves were depicted as boys much like Niklas and friends but with pointed ears (but also a propensity for dying horribly like redshirts on Star Trek if they weren't the main characters). Your story reminds me of some of his storyboarding in Elflord.Clear differences of course, but similar enough to make me wonder if they were an influence on you. Anyway it was meant to be a compliment, in case you were wondering - depending on what you saw of his artwork online, you might indeed have wondered. his stuff got... kinkier and kinkier, to say the least, as time went on.

Ravengrim: Oops.I forgot to answer your question. What I use for drawing is.... Microsoft Word/Office. And yes, I have been told on numerous occasions already about how extremely unusual that is!!! I gather i'm the only person in the entire world dumb enough to use that program exclusively for drawing; I've never adapted to any other - for 2D art anyway. But there you have it.

Announcement: The old forum or Dreambook is evidently closed. We will continue to use this forum instead. There following announcement from Dreambook: "We're sad today to say farewell to an old and dear friend. DreamBook was one of the first projects created by the founders of DreamHost and was part of the original New Dream Network of sites. At one time hosting over a half million guestbooks, it was the second largest guestbook server in the world at its peak and helped to introduce thousands of people to our services. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and the function guestbooks provided has been replaced by shiny new toys like Facebook and WordPress. As a result we've decided to retire DreamBook once and for all. We do understand that many users have become attached to their DreamBooks so, as a courtesy, we've made archives of your DreamBooks available from the DreamBook management page. Those downloads will be available until June 1st, 2014.
Thanks to everyone who participated in making DreamBook such a success, both through creating and managing the books and posting their hopes, dreams and ideas to them!"
