>. but i would give him a old .44 magnum revolver rather than a laser gun...
"Well Captain, to begin with, a time-travel device implies sound technological advances, and as a rule, any such advances soon find their ways into weapons. So the context implies a much more advanced weapon than a .44. Next, as pointed James, a .44 is heavy and Niklas will be unable to handle it. The trigger is VERY hard and needs a strong hand to be actuated. Third, the recoil would kick Niklas flying several yards back, and probably break him several bones. So it is much more logical for him to carry some sort of phaser. What isn't logical, however, is to flee away that big animal while having a phaser in hand. Unless the energy cells are depleted or it experimented some failure. In either case, it needs to be redesigned. Logically..."
-at this point Kirk raised a hand and interfered: "Mister Spock, your logic is, as usual, flawless, but you know us Humans aren't fully logical creatures. We thrive on feelings, and we like the weight of the Magnum, the contact of the steel, and also the necessity to master such weapon."
-McCoy countered, agreeing for once with the Vulcan: "You are right, Jim, but a phaser won't always kill on sight, you can set it to stun, and spare a life."

very well. ok, i totally agree with you. a .44 is heavy. and it has some recoil, but the heavy weight of whole gun give you some more control over the recoil. but still, yeah, when I'm thinking about this now, Keith (it's Keith on the picture) may have some problems with it... on the other side, first time when i have fired a .44 on a range, i was 14. (by the way it was only a year ago) and i had no bigger problems with trigger (i was using a SA/DA revolver , i think that it was a ruger, but i don't remember correctly. ) and the recoil was quite big, but with no hurts. on the other side, it was very accurate. ok. let's stop talking about weapons, because those are sometimes needed , but still are used to kill. and i'm sure that Keith wouldn't want to kill anything . even a mad, alien animal.
the phaser is a good choice. (i still don't like phasers , but in this situation i have to agree with you.)
as a little joke, and to honour a famous author, Douglas Adams, the author of "Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy", maybe give Keith a.... Towel! remember, that a towel is a most useful thing, that a galactic hitchhiker can have!
P.S. - .44 - ok, if there would be nothing else, Keith would use it. but one weapon, what i will never give to him, is a .500 SW magnum. i would like to fire it, but i don't recommend it to anyone else.
P.P.S. - sorry for my bad English, but I'm still learning this language. (mostly at home, because school lessons didn't give me satisfaction )
James says: Antek, your English is fine.

Your English is very fine The towel... yes, this is a smart choice. Wet it good, then throw it at the beast's face. It will cover its eyes and you'd be able to escape ;D

The Niklas Fan Art and Dark Past sites have moved. The old copies will disappear soon. To visit the new locations, use these links: niklas.myartsonline.com/nikfan/niklas.myartsonline.com/dpast/There will be more copies in the future; so if these versions don't last, the sites will continue. Note: The new copies of the sites don't have the ads that the old ones did.
